The Author
The Author is an ex Human Resources Management Consultant (now retired) with over 40 years of experiences and exposures in mainly Oil and Gas Companies in GCC.
He was a weekly Column Contributor in The Oman Daily Observer Features under ‘Between Us Only’. He had started writing in the column now for the past five years, and his column appears every Sundays and Wednesdays of the week. He holds an MBA in International Management (UK).
Started writing as a hobby when he was 14 years old, and his first project in writing My Most Vivid Dream! – had won him a National Award in a country outside Oman
His articles had also appeared in wherever he was, School, Colleges, Company Magazines (PDO) etc. His style of writing is ‘with a fresh approach and direct from the heart’ and as if speaking to you directly, having known you and using personal experiences and exposures – and examples to illustrate his points and characteristics of his writing style.
He is married with three daughters and son, daughters first being twins. Now with 7 grandchildren. The Author lives in Oman.
About The Book
Majid al Suleimany is a well-read, witty and prolific writer who often makes you laugh and sit up and think on ordinary but often neglected and not so cared matters in the society. He also writes about social evils prevalent in the society with a funny touch and lashes it with heavy blows. This unique style and way we rarely find in other writers. His prose is simple and clear and elegant.
The collection of his columns published in the Observer and some unpublished ones appear in a book form — Between Us Only! Series.
The title itself tells the reader the topics he talks about are not so sweet many times, and many of the articles irritate somebody or other.
Since it is ‘Between Us Only!’ and whispered in to your ears he often talks about matters which many are scared to touch. He talks about burning homes, divorce, pride and prejudice, human suffering, human fears, social trends and changes and people’s idiotic concerns to keep up with the Jonesses.
